Introduction

Trade privately in 4 steps

From your normal wallet to an untraceable trade.

The four steps

  1. 1
    Deposit into the shield
On the Shield page, pick a size — 0.1, 1, 10 or 100 SOL — and deposit from your normal wallet.
  2. 2
    Save your secret note
You'll get a note that starts with ztonk-. It's the only key to the deposit — save it before you continue.
  3. 3
    Withdraw to your private wallet
Give other people time to deposit after you, then withdraw to My private wallet — a wallet the site keeps in your browser. Your browser makes the proof and a relayer pays the fee, so it can start empty.
  4. 4
    Trade privately
Turn on Trade privately on any token, or Launch privately on the launch page. Your private wallet signs, so the wallet you deposited from never appears.
Don't lose the note
If you lose it, the deposit can't be recovered by anyone — not you, not Ztonk. If someone else gets it, they can withdraw it. Treat it like a seed phrase.

Just moving SOL?

You don't have to trade. You can withdraw straight to any address — for example a fresh wallet you'll use later. A relayer pays the fee, so the new wallet can start completely empty.

Back up your private wallet
It lives in this browser. Clearing site data deletes it. On the Shield page, Back up key shows a key you can import into Phantom or Solflare.

Three habits that matter

Wait before withdrawing. Vary your amounts and timing. Never send anything between your new wallet and your old one. The cryptography holds; habits are what give people away. What stays private explains why.
